While I do love stationary ball handling drills, you must incorporate others that allow your child to handle the ball on the move. Both of my daughters have been doing this drill since they have been very young. It works several different moves with them cutting back and forth. I like to have them run through the drill twice during a session. Listed below are the different progressions in the training.
- Inside Out
- Crossovers
- Between the Legs
- Behind the Back
- Inside Out Crossover
- Between the Legs/Crossover Combo
- Double Behind the Back
- Pull Backs
I have my daughter demonstrating the drill in the video below. She did make one error on the Double Behind the Back, but I believe that if you are not making errors, you are not pushing yourself hard enough. I hope you find this helpful.
