Top 8 Basketball Road Trip Junk Food Essentials: The Definitive List

As I am preparing for a basketball road trip to Ames, Iowa, this evening, I thought I would provide you with the definitive list of junk food items listed to be packed for a long car ride. This is the final list, so I will accept no arguments.

1. Strawberry Twizzlers

This treat is easy to eat and utterly addictive. I would recommend getting an enormous container.

2. Diet Coke

I am convinced that Diet Coke saved my life. My youngest daughter was playing in a volleyball tournament in Kansas City during the high school varsity basketball season. Our last match was at 8 pm on Sunday. She needed to be back for school the next morning, or her basketball coach would not allow her to play in the game on Tuesday. We left at around 9:15 pm and arrived home at 5:30 am. Without my caffeinated Diet Coke, I surely would have perished on I-80.

3. Original Corn Nuts

This salty snack brings me right back to my childhood. They have a delicious taste and the added benefit of being extremely crunchy, which also keeps you awake.

4. Peanut M&M’s

I do not want to even entertain a conversation about the peanut butter or caramel ones. These are the gold standard. Make sure to get the big family-sized bag.

5. Cheetos

I know what you are saying. They are messy, right? I do not care. I like the taste, and the cheetah is cool. Back off.

6. Pretzel Rods

The primary benefit of having these giant pretzels is that you save in feeding time because you do not have to put your hand in the bag as often. They are very efficient.

7. Gummy Bears

I like them because they come in pretty colors and the fact that they are squishy. I don’t feel I have to justify this in any other way.

8. Cool Ranch Doritos

When it comes to Doritos, there are only two valid choices: Nacho Cheese or Cool Ranch. I shun the newer varieties. The nod goes to the Cool Ranch ones because they are not spicy and since they come in a blue bag.

Conclusion

I hope that you enjoy this post. Following these selections will make your long car rides a lot easier.

I am truly thankful that my child is back in the gym and competing ((Dickson Elementary School in Ardmore, OK – realtor.comĀ®. https://www.realtor.com/local/schools/dickson-elementary-school_0757149001)). The highs are exciting, and the lows are heartbreaking, but I would not want it any other way. I love basketball, and I love watching my daughter play. Have a great weekend!
